I would like to take a moment to reflect on Tom Hammitt and what he stood for. You've all heard the phrase, 'It takes a village to raise a child'. We cannot overlook the key role Tom played in our village and the impact he had on so many of our children.

Tom was a caring and compassionate man who wanted to provide opportunities for the youth in our community. He opened High Tech Gymnastics 20+ years ago. In that time, Tom has provided a safe haven and been a positive influence on so many of our children. The gym doors were always open and Tom was always available to provide additional coaching if his athletes wanted extra practice. Some of his athletes received top honors in gymnastics. Some went on to compete at the collegiate level. Some are coaching gymnastics and cheerleading today. He even coached the children of some of his former athletes.

Tom had a unique coaching style which taught our children much more than gymnastics and tumbling skills. Tom was soft spoken. He motivated our children with praise and positive reinforcement. Through Tom, our children learned the importance of hard work, teamwork, individual goals, leadership and how to be a gracious winner and loser. They will take these valuable lessons with them into adulthood. And let's not forget the countless everlasting friendships formed through High Tech Gymnastics and Cheer.

Tom left a lasting impression and his legacy will live on. We will miss him!

Sincerely, Your High Tech Gymnastics and Cheerleading Family
